Narrator: Buttons, buttons, buttons, buttons…

As this is a radio advert, there is not going to be any kind of visual effects. However, due to the advert being more on the audio side; sound effects and BGM will be more effective to the audience.

There will be elements of BGM in this radio advert to bring more positive energy and entertain the audience listening. By using a certain sound similar to the type that Cadbury would go for; the familiar vibe will keep the audience engaged.

Planning Documentation Location Recces

 Location Recces

Why have you chosen these locations and how does it help the audience relate to the chocolate bar?

Primary school classroom - I`ve chosen the location of a primary school class in order to effectively target the younger audience. My first initial idea is to use children actors and a teacher to act out in a scene; so using that type of class is a great idea. However I must get permission to use the actors and the class to film.

Green Screen - For my second initial idea I`ve chosen a green screen for my location as the storyline is based on a spaceship. I can use my school for the green screen; however editing everything to be clean and realistic may be a struggle.

Grove Road - For my third initial idea, I have chosen the location of the road near Grove Primary School as I need to use the sky and also a location that explicitly shows the children are being taken to school. However I would need to use a day where the roads are quite empty and also find lots of child actors and parents who are willing to be filmed.

What are the differences of the locations to make the chocolate bar advert?

  • Two of the locations are inside, while one is outside
  • One location is a green screen while the others aren`t
  • Two locations are related to school
What is your final ideal location to film this chocolate bar advert?

I have decided to choose my first idea with the school classroom as the location to film in. This is because it can be the most realistic and also easier to film. Though the legal side of gaining permission from the children`s parents, teachers and the school will be the main focus when filming this advert. When that goes successfully I will be able to create the advertisements; effectively reaching the target audiences.

History of Chosen Product

History of Cadbury Caramel Chocolate

The product I`ve chosen is Cadbury chocolate Buttons. The product is made from fresh dairy milk chocolate-shaped buttons. I`ve chosen this product as it is an iconic sweet treat that everyone eats, regardless of age. The chocolate buttons were first sold in the UK in 1960. Growing into one of the most popular Cadbury products, it has simple yet adorable packaging and is easy to eat on the go. Even if it`s explicitly targeted towards the younger audience (3-13), adults can easily enjoy this delicious treat as a snack. The packaging is mainly royal purple, with a white background resembling a glass of milk; and the 'Cadbury Dairy Milk' logo at the top of the packet. Above the glass of milk there is  milk puddle with brown bubble lettering saying 'Buttons'. With each separate packet displaying one cartoon animal (either a cat, cow, owl, pig, or a monkey) over the milk glass. Shown below, there is a Buttons advert made around 1993; with another dating back to 1980. This emphasises how long ago the product has been around for and shows how popular it is. However, adverts for this product are not shown on TV anymore; as there are other new products that Cadbury would rather promote more. This may be seen in a positive light as it suggests that the product is so renowned that it doesn`t need advertisements for people to know what it is.

Amended Pitch for Final Idea
