Cadbury Buttons Final Pitch Video

Before producing my adverts, I created and presented a final pitch for my finalised idea. When I reached the end of my pitch I received questions as a reflection asking about my choices for the advert and pitch. Here are the questions:

Why did I choose the specific Cadbury product?
Since it is a lightweight, snack it is not covered as much in terms of promotion, rather than the chocolate bars that are quite popular, so I considered brining back awareness and decided to relaunch the product to give it another chance.

Why did I decide to choose the location to be in school?
Initially I was going to go through with the idea of the advert being filmed in a primary school, as the product is a kids snack and has cartoon characters on the packaging which clearly denotes it is for the younger audience. However due to legal restrictions with consent, I changed the location to a house, and had my younger cousins act which made it easier for the legal side of the advert.

Why did I choose Sky, and other specific TV channels to distribute my advert?
I chose SKY, Channel 4, ITV as the chosen channels to promote the advert on as they rely on third-party advertisements to run the channel, whereas BBC only promote adverts within that conglomerate, so there are no third-party adverts shown on those channels. This makes it easier for me to share the product.

What is my budget for the advert?
My budget for the advert was £20. As the school didn't provide a budget and I am a student, I had to try and find a props that fit my limit of a budget, to which I successfully did. It was worth the £20 to buy the props.

What actors did i have in my advert?
I had two child actors, and one adult actor in my advert. The two child actors were acting as siblings and the adult actor acted as the mother of the two children.

Is the product design going to remain the same?
I decided to keep the design the same as that is the nostalgia that comes from the product for those who grew up eating the chocolate. If I chose to remove and change the design then it won't fulfill my purpose of bringing back nostalgic memories and teach the newer, younger audience what this iconic product is.

What is the synergy in the advert?
The synergy in the product is the chocolate buttons and the Freddo bar. The Freddo frog is a separate character which belongs to another chocolate bar, however the animal has made his appearances on the front of Cadbury Buttons before. By bringing that synergy back into the relaunch, I am able to bring back the older audience who get reminded of the old snack and want to relive the joy of consuming the beloved snack.
